Advantages: established construction, many service and replacement options, and cold-water, hot-water and pulse configurations in some ranges.
Limitations: they still have moving parts. “Multijet” does not establish a universal accuracy advantage over every single-jet or static meter.
Before buying: identify the exact body, register, flow rating and orientation. Do not assume that a model available in 15 mm has identical capabilities at every larger size.
What to specify for this type
- Standard and edition behind Class A/Class B wording
- The exact model’s low-flow limits
- Wet/dry register and magnetic coupling
- Hot-water version, pulse pickup and counter scope
Flow range and communications
Match actual minimum, normal, continuous maximum and peak flow to the exact configuration. A shared pipe size does not establish equivalent performance.
A connected metering system is five parts: meter → interface or module → network or gateway → software → billing, dashboard or control system. A quotation should name who supplies and maintains each one. AMR-ready equipment may still require separately quoted radio, gateway, head-end and billing software.
